Back porch restoration in Waukesha, near Carroll University. As you can see in the first pictures the porch was covered in organic growth and the white paint, and blue paint was failing. The left railing was also rotted through and need to be replaced. First thing we did was replaced the railing. We built a new one exactly to match the old one that was there previously. Then we removed the blue paint form the deck and the stairs. Then we washed and brightened the porch and stairs. Next it was time for the white paint. The white paint had organic growth all over it and was peeling and cracking in some places. First, I hit it with a low alkaline wash to kill all other organic growth. Then I sanded the problem areas to get off all the failing white paint. The customer also asked that i touched up his front columns, address sign and front railing, so we hit that with two coats of the same Sherwin Williams product. After the white paint was done, two coats were applied, it was then time to sand the flat area of the porch and the stairs. Then it was show time, the customer chose Slate Grey Semi Solid from SSE. The porch turned out wonderfully, the customer was so happy he decided he needed his fence stained also!
